Congratulations to our PhD students for their Virtual Mobility Grants!

The proposals of two members of BikiarisLab, Mr. Lazaros Papadopoulos (AUTH) and Ms. Eleftheria Xanthopoulou (University of Ioannina) for Virtual Mobility Grants via the COST action Fur4Sustain were recently approved!

The Virtual Mobility grant of Eleftheria with the title “Crystallization profile of a material based on FDCA and a vanillic-acid based monomer” was performed monomer” was implemented in collaboration with Dr. Nathanael Guigo (University de Cote D’ Azur), who is an expert on physicochemical properties of polymers, especially furan-based polyesters.

Lazaros collaborated with Dr Tobias Robert (Fraunhofer WKI) and prof Marti Roger (Haute école d'ingénierie et d'architecture de Fribourg) on the Virtual Mobility grant with the title “Synthesis of furan based poly(ester amide)s for 3D printing applications”.

The grant aims at strengthening the existing networks by allowing scientists to foster collaboration in a virtual setting, to exchange knowledge, learn new techniques, and subsequently, disseminate the Action results. The Fur4Sustain project aims at rallying individual research efforts scattered across Europe, gathering experts in FDCA synthesis, polymer science and materials development, along with producer, manufacture and recycling industrial stakeholders, as well as techno-economic viability experts. In addition, the Fur4Sustain action is an open platform for collaboration and networking, fostering the development of holistic knowledge.
