Professors E. Murugan and H. Muiambo Visit BikiarisLab for Collaborative Exchange

Last week, BikiarisLab had the honor of hosting two distinguished scholars, Dr. E. Murugan and Dr. Herminio Muiambo, during their recent visit. Dr. Murugan, Professor & Head and Dean Research in the Department of Physical Chemistry at the University of Madras, delivered an insightful lecture on cutting-edge topics in nanotechnology. With over 104 publications in national and international journals, Dr. Murugan’s research spans areas such as nanoparticle catalysis, phase-transfer catalysis, dendrimer synthesis, functionalized carbon nanotubes, and nanocomposites for bone tissue engineering.

During the same period, Dr. Herminio Muiambo, Director of Planning, Quality Assurance, and Institutional Studies at Eduardo Mondlane University in Mozambique, was also visiting. Dr. Muiambo, an associate Professor with expertise in inorganic, physical, and analytical chemistry, as well as polymer sciences, shared his insights on polymer processing, solid waste management, and nanotechnology. His extensive research and consultancy work, particularly on environmental chemistry and marine pollution, has had a significant impact across Africa and beyond.

The visit facilitated a vibrant exchange of knowledge between the honored guests and the BikiarisLab team, strengthening international collaboration on sustainable material sciences, nanotechnology, and advanced polymer research.
