The team of AUTH (Dr Zoi Terzopoulou, Dr Alexandra Zamboulis and Lazaros Papadopoulos) recently visited the premises of Fraunhofer Institute of Wood Research, Wilhelm-Klauditz-Institute (WKI). The WKI participates in the BIOMAC project with the Resins Pilot Line (PL12).
Along with Natalia Malitowski, Dr Tobias Robert and Henrik Christ (not in the picture) they discussed the progress of the PL upgrade and the overall progress of the project.
PL12 uses monomers from PL3, such as succinic acid, glycerol, EG, 1,2-PDO, and sugar alcohol, as starting materials for the production of bio-based polyester and polyurethane resins.
