Our team had the exciting opportunity to participate in the 13th European Symposium on Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry (ESTAC-13) which was held on the 19-22 September 2022, in Palermo, Italy.
Professor Bikiaris received the 2022 TA-Instruments-AICAT Award, and delivered a plenary lecture entitled “Synthesis, characterization and thermal properties of biobased polymers and nanocomposites”. The AICAT-TA Award is assigned by the executive board of AICAT (Associazone Italiana Calorimetria e Analisi Termica) to a distinguished scientist in the field of Calorimetry and Thermal Analysis and it is supported by TA Instruments.
Our group presented one oral speech by PhD candidate Eleftheria Xanthopoulou and 11 posters.
Eleftheria presented the work of the thesis, with the title "Towards sustainability: Exploring the thermal properties of vanillic acid-based polyesters".
With 10 posters, we disseminated work performed in the context of several research projects, including PROSOTHERMA, Nanomythic, Phresco, OLHE, Proderma and KYKA.

We would like to thank the organizing committee for the opportunity to stay updated on the current topics of thermal analysis and calorimetry and the great hospitality in Sicily!
