Participation of BikiarisLab on MEDICTA2023

BikiarisLab participated in the 16th Mediterranean Conference on Calorimetry and Thermal Analysis which took place in Porto, Portugal on 19th – 21st July 2023 at the University of Porto.

Our group, along with the group of Prof. Chrissafis, had the opportunity to meet and discuss with experts and researchers involved in the field of thermal analysis and calorimetry.

On 19th July afternoon, our PhD student, Eleftheria Xanthopoulou, gave an oral presentation entitled: Poly(alkylene vanillates): A novel series of sustainable polyesters based on vanillic acid”, disseminating results of her Ph.D. thesis, as a ITC grantee by Fur4Sustain COST Action.

The Fur4Sustain Action is an open platform for collaboration and networking, fostering the development of intersectorial knowledge. BikiarisLab has a prominent role in the project, as leader of Working Group 2 and an important number of publications that resulted from collaborations in the context of the project.

More information on Fur4Sustain and the role of BikiarisLab can be found here!

Furthermore, our group presented work performed in the context of our nationally funded projects.

Dr. Georgia Michailidou presented results of OLHE project, a project concerning the production of innovative and sustainable wood boards from low-value waste biomass, employing novel adhesives, prepared from raw materials of plant origin.

We want to thank the organizing committee for the excellent organization and for the great hospitality!
