BikiarisLab participated in the 8th International seminar on modern polymeric materials for environmental applications which took place in Krakow, Poland, on 19th – 21st May 2023 at the University of Techology of Krakow.
Our group, along with the group of Prof. Chrissafis, had the opportunity to meet and discuss with experts and researchers involved in the field of polymer synthesis and characterization.
On 20th May morning, our PhD student, Georgia Michailidou, gave an oral presentation entitled: “Novel chitosan/2-methoxy-4-vinylphenol modified chitosan blends and their application in 3D printing”, disseminating results of her Ph.D. thesis, funded by Funded by the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY).
Furthermore, our group presented work performed in the context of our nationally funded projects.
Evaluation of eco-friendly hemp fibers-reinforced recycled HDPE composites, KYKA project
Presented by Nina Maria Ainali
PLA-based composite materials to valorize wastes from olive-oil production, OLHE project
Presented by Georgia Michailidou
Exploring the morphological and thermal features of PVC nanocomposites for piping applications, PROSOTHERMA project
Presented by Eleftheria Xanthopoulou
Our PhD student, Nina, presented part of her results of her ongoing thesis.
Aging behavior of common plastics under UV irradiation towards microplastics generation. Funded by the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (HFRI)
Presented by Nina Maria Ainali
Additionally, a dissemination of BIOMAC and Sustain-A-Print H2020 projects took place.
Finally, our group visited the laboratory of thermal analysis of the Department of Chemical Engineering.
We want to thank the organizing committee for the excellent organization and for the great hospitality!
